18TH DFSI and 6TH ADFS conference held in Chennai

A three-day virtual international conference covered the theme ‘Healing Wounds, Preventing Amputations’

The three-day virtual international conference of “18th Annual Conference of Diabetic Foot Society of India (DFSI) & 6th Annual Conference of (International) Association of Diabetic Foot Association” was inaugurated by Dr Preetha Reddy, Vice-Chairperson of Apollo Hospitals Group. 

Also, present on the occasion were, Arun Bal, President – DFSI, Dr Rajesh Kesavan, Secretary – DFSI, Dr V.B. Narayanamurthy, VP – DFSI, Dr Venu Kavarpathu, President – ADFS, Dr Robert Frykberg, Scientific Officer and Dr Arvind Rajagopalan, Treasurer DFSICON2020 and other healthcare experts. 

This year conference (virtual) was attended by more than 4000 members from over 25 countries including the US, the UK, Italy, Netherlands, Singapore, South Korea, Tanzania and many more.

The three-day programme aimed to bring together all Indian and international specialities to come on one platform to discuss the opportunities and challenges faced by the medical fraternity in diabetic foot care.

Commenting on the inaugural ceremony, Dr Kesavan, said, “We are proud to host this virtual international conference, which has received the unceasing interest and confidence posed by the Indian and International healthcare experts reflects our hard work and commitment towards strengthening practical management of diabetic foot care.”

Dr Narayanamurthy, said, “It is heartening to see the healthcare professionals come together to share their ideas and experience, key findings on their case studies during Covid-19. This conference would be an eye-opener and helpful for non-specialist, general, family and nurses to battle against diabetes-related amputations.”
