68-yr-old AP man gets gift of life through heart transplant from 43-y-old Kannadiga

68-year-old man from Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh gets a new life as he undergoes a heart transplant at M S Ramaiah Narayana Heart Centre – a unit managed by Narayana Health. The donor is a  43 year old assistant artist at North Eastern Karnataka Road Transport Corporation,  Bellary.  He was admitted at  Sparsh Hospital,  Yeshwanthpur for Intracerebral Bleed. Doctors declared him ‘Brain Dead’ and the family consented for organ donation. The heart was retrieved at Sparsh Hospital, Yesthwanthpur and was transported to M S Ramaiah Narayana Heart Centre, Mattikere.

Hailing from Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh, the recipient was suffering from dilated cardiomyopathy. He was on medical management at M S Narayana Heart Centre since the last six months. After a thorough evaluation by a team of cardiologists and cardiac surgeons, the patient was advised a heart transplant.

The heart retrieval and transplant was performed by Dr. Nagamalesh.
