Academy of Hospital Administration has recently elected a new Board for the tenure of two years. Prof. A.K. Gupta, Medical Superintendent-cum-Professor & Head, Department of Hospital Administration, PGIMER, Chandigarh is the new President of AHA. Dr Gupta was trained in U.K. and was awarded Commonwealth Medical Fellowship for one year in 1991-92, availed at University of Liverpool, U.K. He has been short term consultant to World Health Organization (SEARO), New Delhi, an International Consultant to World Health Organization, Nepal and has provided training/consultation in Hospital Administration to the doctors belonging to Government of Nepal, Maldives, and Indonesia. He successfully conducted Management Development Programme for doctors working under National Rural Health Mission, Government of India and was also nominated as Team Leader of Capacity Building Programme for senior functionaries of 6 AIIMS and top officials, administrative functionaries of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare under Pradhan Mantry Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY).
Dr Hem Chandra, Professor/Addl. Medical Superintendent, HOD Hospital Administration, SGPIMS, Lucknow is the Vice-President. He has more than 25 years’ experience in the field of hospital and health administration in addition to his 5 years army medical corp service. He has more than 106 publications and 9 books authorship in his credit. Conferred with UP Ratan award, Award for excellence, and FELLOW by All India Management Association.
Gp Capt (Dr) M G Ajmani, Retd is now the Executive Director. He has served in the Indian Air Force for 33 years and held Medical-Clinical and Administrative position at various levels including command of hospital and Medical Advisor at AFRO,New Delhi. Presently he is the visiting faculty at Sharda and Amity university in NCR and IIHMR, Dwarka, New Delhi and was associated with training in Health management courses of YMCA, New Delhi.
Brig (Dr) K S Bhatnagar, Retd. holds the Director Finance post. He has served in the Army Medical Corps for nearly 35 years and was the professor of Hospital Administration at AFMC Pune. Currently he is the Medical Superintendent of 100-bed Lions Neuro Sciences Centre, Lions Kidney Hospital and Urology Research Institute.
Dr Anoop Kumar Daga, Associate Professor, Dept. of Hospital Administration, AIIMS is the director Programms. Dr Daga has served earlier in various corporate hospitals in India.
