AHPI members urge Union health min to look into issues related to unused covid vaccines

Urge the government to consider other healthcare-related issues 

During a meeting of the Association of Health Providers India, Dr Devi Shetty, Chairman and Executive Director, Narayana Health, National President, AHPI and Dr Girdhar Gyani, Director General, AHPI recently held a meeting with Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Health Minister and discussed current healthcare scenario.

Discussions were held on regarding the huge stocks of unused covid vaccines with the private hospitals, utilisation by the government including export of vaccines; revision of CGHS rates

Experts requested the government for providing preferential status to the healthcare sector as is being given to a few other infrastructure sectors. Deliberations were held on to overcome the shortage of nurses, opening up ANM courses in ‘earn while you learn’.

AHPI also suggested actively considering increasing the specialist’s pool through DNB diploma programmes, especially in government hospitals.
