ALERT, Indian Red Cross Society, Tamil Nadu Branch ink MoU

To promote first aid awareness and emergency preparedness in Tamil Nadu

ALERT, an NGO, with a vision to enable the emergency response ecosystem to ensure basic first response has signed an MoU with Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) Tamil Nadu State Branch.

The MoU exchange ceremony was held at the Head office of the Indian Red Cross Society (TN Branch) in Chennai. The events were graced by key representatives from both organisations - VM Muralidharan, Chairman of ALERT; Kala Balasundaram, Founder Trustee; and Rajesh R Trivedi, Co-Founder and Managing Trustee. Also in attendance were Justice M Jaichandran, Vice President and Chairman of the IRCS TN branch, and Mr. Vedavyas, General Secretary of the IRCS TN branch.

The agreement marks a significant step toward collaborative efforts in delivering impactful training programmes focussed on first aid and emergency response. During the event dignitaries and representatives from both organisations shared their thoughts on the importance of the partnership and its expected impact.

Justice M Jaichandran, Vice president and Chairman, IRCS TN branch said, “We are proud to partner with ALERT in this meaningful initiative. First aid training and emergency response awareness are essential in building a safer, more prepared society."

VM Muralidharan, Chairman, ALERT said, “We are honoured to partner with the Indian Red Cross Society, TN Branch that is known for their yeoman community service. We look forward to this partnership in especially empowering the youth across colleges to save precious lives.”

Vedavyas - General secretary- IRCS TN branch emphasised, “Through this collaboration, we aim to reach wider communities and equip more individuals with lifesaving skills. This MoU is a step toward creating a culture of safety and responsibility."

The joint programmes in first aid and emergency response will be taken to students in colleges through the ALERT Golden Army Clubs, Youth Red Cross (YRC) and Junior Red Cross (JRC) across Tamil Nadu apart from training people in the corporates and other deserving sections of the communities from all walks of life such as auto drivers, homemakers etc. A joint certificate will be provided at the end of the training.
