Amazon Expands Healthcare Footprint with At-Home Diagnostics in Key Indian Cities

IMT News Desk

Amazon India has introduced at-home diagnostics across six major cities, aiming to streamline healthcare access via its platform.

Amazon India has launched a new service called Amazon Diagnostics, allowing users in Bengaluru, Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Mumbai, and Hyderabad to book lab tests from the comfort of their homes. The service, integrated into the existing Amazon app, includes features like appointment scheduling, digital report access, and doorstep sample collection in under 60 minutes. The initiative is in collaboration with Orange Health Labs and spans over 450 PIN codes.

According to The Economic Times, this move expands Amazon’s presence in India’s healthcare space. The diagnostics service is now part of Amazon Medical, which also includes Amazon Pharmacy and Amazon Clinic. While Amazon Pharmacy continues to offer prescription medications and free teleconsultations, Amazon Clinic provides access to licensed doctors for primary healthcare consultations through a digital interface.

With more than 800 diagnostic tests now available via Amazon’s platform, the company is positioning itself to provide a comprehensive healthcare experience. The integration of these services under Amazon Medical suggests a strategy focused on convenience and continuity of care, particularly for urban customers seeking accessible digital health options. The company has not announced a timeline for expansion to other cities but indicated that service feedback and demand will guide future plans.
