Biorad Medisys launches Compact Quantino 20W Thulium Fiber Laser for kidney stone management at UROLITHOCON 2026, enhancing urological care access.

Biorad Medisys announced the launch of Quantino 20W Thulium Fiber Laser for kidney stone management at UROLITHOCON 2026, the annual conference of the Urolithiasis Section of the Urological Society of India (USI) being held in Bengaluru.

Studies suggest that nearly 12% of the Indian population is likely to develop kidney stones during their lifetime. Rising temperatures, dehydration, dietary changes and sedentary lifestyles are contributing to the growing burden of the disease. As patient volumes continue to grow, hospitals and urologists are increasingly adopting minimally invasive technologies that enable effective stone treatment, shorter hospital stays and faster recovery.

The Quantino 20W Thulium Fiber Laser has been developed to support these evolving clinical needs. The compact system is designed for stone fragmentation procedures and expands Biorad Medisys’ existing Quantino portfolio, which includes 40W and 75W platforms. Integrated with the company’s Smart OR (Operation Room) ecosystem, the solution combines laser technology with visualization, irrigation, suction and workflow management capabilities, helping clinicians perform stone procedures more efficiently while optimizing operating room resources. Its compact footprint and lower power requirements make it particularly relevant for hospitals and urology centres looking to strengthen their stone management capabilities without significant infrastructure additions.

Commenting on the launch, Jitendra Hegde, Founder and Managing Director, Biorad Medisys, said, “At Biorad Medisys, our vision has always been to make advanced medical technologies more accessible to healthcare providers and patients, irrespective of geography. The launch of the Quantino 20W reflects that commitment. By expanding the Quantino portfolio, we are enabling a wider range of healthcare institutions to offer advanced laser-based stone management and improve access to quality urological care.”

With the addition of the 20W platform, Biorad Medisys now offers a broader range of laser solutions for stone management, enabling healthcare providers to choose technologies best aligned with their patient volumes, clinical requirements and operational needs.
