Union Minister Nadda inaugurates ARHI super-specialty hospital in Meghalaya, reaffirms Centre's commitment to Northeast healthcare infrastructure.

Union Health Minister J P Nadda on Thursday declared that the Central Government remains firmly committed to strengthening healthcare infrastructure across the Northeast and ensuring that advanced medical services reach people living in remote and underserved areas of the region.

Nadda made these remarks while inaugurating ARHI Hospital in Meghalaya’s Ri-Bhoi district- a new super-specialty facility that he described as a visionary achievement and a significant step towards strengthening healthcare delivery across the hilly state. He expressed confidence that the hospital would help improve health outcomes for the people of Meghalaya and serve as a beacon of hope for those seeking quality medical care closer to home.

“Establishing a modern super-specialty hospital in a hilly state like Meghalaya is a visionary achievement and a significant step towards strengthening healthcare delivery in the region,” the minister said, noting that such institutions play a crucial role in improving access to specialised healthcare services and reducing the need for patients to travel outside the state for treatment.

Nadda, who was invited to the ceremony by MLA Alexander Hek, extended his congratulations to all those associated with the initiative and lauded the collective efforts behind setting up the hospital. He underscored that the facility was not merely a healthcare centre but an institution that would contribute significantly to the state’s healthcare sector by providing quality treatment, creating employment opportunities, and supporting medical excellence in the region
