Centre Sanctions Rs 140 Crore for Ayurveda and Homeopathy Medical Colleges in Tripura

IMT News Desk

The Centre has sanctioned Rs 140 crore for the establishment of Ayurveda and Homeopathy medical colleges in Tripura, announced Chief Minister Manik Saha on Tuesday. This significant funding aims to enhance healthcare education infrastructure in the northeastern state, which currently has three medical colleges, including the Agartala Government Medical College.

Sharing the development on Facebook, CM Manik Saha stated that the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, has approved the funds, and a high-level meeting has been held to finalize the roadmap for starting both colleges from the next academic session. He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Health Minister J P Nadda, and Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for AYUSH Shri Prataprao Yadav for their substantial support in strengthening healthcare and education in Tripura.

This initiative is expected to boost healthcare education and services in the region by facilitating specialized training in traditional and alternative medicine systems alongside conventional medical education. The new colleges will potentially create more opportunities for students interested in Ayurveda and Homeopathy, contributing to the overall healthcare ecosystem of Tripura.
