FGI recognises the institute for its outstanding contribution in the field of healthcare
Charutar Arogya Mandal, Karamsad has been selected for the ‘Best Charitable Institute Providing Healthcare Services Award’ by the Federation of Gujarat Industries (FGI) for outstanding contribution in the field of healthcare.
The institute has been nominated for its efforts in the areas of initial engagement with patients, care of the patient, management of medication, patient rights and education, hospital infection control, continuous quality improvement, responsibilities of management, facility management and safety, human resource management, information management system.
Shree Krishna Hospital, managed by the Charutar Arogya Mandal is a 1000-bed NABH accredited hospital. The hospital has been treating more than 5, 00,000 patients for outdoor consultations and 50,000 in-patients annually.
The state government designated the hospital for treating covid patients from April 9, 2020. A three-storied separate building, the Waymade Critical Care Centre with 102 ICU beds, was earmarked exclusively for treating Covid patients in Anand district. The hospital has increased its capacity to 280 in order to meet the growing challenges and increased in the number of Covid patients. Till date, it has treated more than 2200 coronavirus cases, suspected and positive, with patients coming not only from Anand but also from places like Ahmedabad and Vadodara apart from Khambhat, Nadiad and Kheda.
The hospital has been treating underprivileged patients with no registration charges and outdoor consultation. It provides various concessions to the underprivileged through various schemes. Many government schemes are also operational. Patients are educated for their rights and responsibilities. FGI has scrutinised all criteria and nominated for excellence award.
