CitiusTech appoints Shyam Karunakaran as Chief Business Officer - Payers & Platform Solutions.

CitiusTech, a leading provider of healthcare technology services driving digital and AI excellence, has appointed Shyam Karunakaran as Chief Business Officer- Payers & Platform Solutions. With a 26-year career spanning payers, providers, pharma, life sciences, and health IT, Shyam joins CitiusTech’s Executive Council to shape company strategy, lead the Payer business, and drive the platform (IP) portfolio.

Shyam, who joined CitiusTech during its startup phase, has served in leadership for over 16 years. He scaled early markets, built the Payer vertical into one of the company’s largest, serving top U.S. health plans and now heads the PERFORM+ platform, CitiusTech’s flagship AI-enabled solution for clinical quality and value-based care.

A prominent voice in payer tech modernization, clinical quality, interoperability, and AI’s role in payer technology, Shyam contributes regularly through conferences, webinars, and thought leadership. “I’m thrilled to lead our Payer and platform businesses at this pivotal time for healthcare innovation,” said Shyam Karunakaran. “With PERFORM+ and our AI expertise, we’re poised to deliver transformative value-based care solutions.”

Before CitiusTech, Shyam spent nearly a decade at Infosys. He holds a degree in biomedical engineering and resides in New Jersey with his wife and two rescue cats.

This appointment strengthens CitiusTech’s focus on innovative healthcare solutions amid rising demand for AI-driven payer platforms and digital transformation.
