Corona Remedies has inaugurated and commercialised a dedicated EU-GMP-approved hormone manufacturing facility at Bhayla on the outskirts of Ahmedabad, expanding its in-house capacity for women’s health therapies. The new greenfield plant, built on a one lakh sq. ft land parcel, is designed to produce multiple dosage forms, including tablets, soft gel capsules, ointments and gels, with an annual capacity of 194 million tablets/capsules and 1.5 million ointments/gels.
With this commissioning, Corona Remedies’ in-house hormone manufacturing capacity is expected to rise by nearly 20 per cent, strengthening its position in the branded formulations market. The EU-GMP certification of the facility is aimed at meeting global quality benchmarks and supports the company’s strategy of expanding its portfolio through in-licensing and diversifying its market presence in India and beyond.

The Ahmedabad-based firm is an India-focused branded pharmaceutical formulation developer and currently operates two manufacturing plants at Bhayla in Gujarat and Solan in Himachal Pradesh. Together, these facilities are equipped with 11 production lines and have an aggregate manufacturing capacity of around 1.2 billion capsules, including hormone therapies, positioning Corona Remedies to cater to rising demand in the domestic market.
