Dr Sushil Shah, Chairman and Founder, Metropolis Healthcare Awarded With Maharashtra Gaurav Award 2017

Dr Sushil Shah, Chairman and Founder, Metropolis Healthcare Ltd., was awarded the prestigious Maharashtra Gaurav Award for his significant contribution to the pathology industry. The award was bestowed by Mr. Ram Kadam, Member of Assembly and Mr. Kirit Somaiya, Member of Parliament at a function held in Ghatkopar. On winning the award, Dr. Shah said, “It is an honour to receive The Maharashtra Gaurav Award. This award is a testimony for the hard work we put in at Metropolis Healthcare. I would like to thank my entire team for their dedication and continuous support towards making our vision comes true.” A champion of turnarounds in the Indian Pathology Industry: Dr. Shah was honored for his distinguished services to the state and for his outstanding individual achievements. The company’s DNA for quality comes from Dr. Shah’s acute focus on quality lab processes and customer care. Dr Sushil Shah is credited with building the first referral laboratory in Mumbai. A visionary, he is single handedly responsible for bringing in various technologies in to the nation; some of which are Radio Immunoassays, Flow Cytometry, HIV & HCV Viral Load Testing, Digital Pathology, Nephelometry, Transcripted Mediated Amplification, High Performance Liquid Chromatography amongst others. In addition, Metropolis was the first lab in all of Maharashtra to receive the CAP (College of American Pathologists) accreditation, which is a global gold standard in lab accreditations. Today, Metropolis is a leading healthcare brand, catering to over 200,000 doctors, laboratories and hospitals, processing more than 30 million tests annually.
