ECRI from USA at AMTZ, Vizag

The Kalam Institute of Health Technology forged global partnership with the world’s renowned Emergency Care Research Institute (ECRI), an independent nonprofit organization  founded in the early 1960s, that researches approaches to improving patient care globally.

ECRI serves over 5,000 healthcare organizations worldwide including hospitals, health systems, public and private payers, U.S. federal and state government agencies, ministries of health, voluntary sector organizations, associations, and accrediting agencies. With these groups, ECRI Institute shares its experience in patient safety improvement, comparative effectiveness, risk and quality management, evidence-based practice, healthcare processes, devices, procedures and drug technology. ECRI Institute has been undertaking brand and model comparative evaluations of medical devices since 1971.

ECRI Institute is an international organization with offices in the United States, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, and Malaysia. India would be the fifth office managed by KIHT at Med Tech Capital of India, Andhra Pradesh Med Tech Zone (AMTZ), Visakhapatnam.

This association would help Indian health system, medical providers, government agencies, payers and other organizations in the private and public sectors.  Dr. Jitendar Sharma, Executive Director, Kalam Institute of Health technology (KIHT) and MD & CEO, Andhra Pradesh Med Tech Zone (AMTZ) said that the presence of ECRI initiative in India would bolster the growth of healthcare in India and every citizen would receive safer and higher-quality care at affordable costs. Mr. Srinivas, Senior Biomedical Engineer from AMTZ shall be leading the ECRI institute.
