Medicover Hospitals has launched a dedicated Andrology Unit to address male reproductive and sexual health concerns. The department offers confidential consultations, evidence-based treatments and advanced microsurgical care under one roof. Led by Dr. Sanish Shringarpure, Urologist and Andrologist and Dr Vikas Bhise, Urologist, the unit will provide ethical, structured and personalised treatment for men who have long hesitated to seek help.
Andrology is a specialised branch of urology that focuses on male reproductive health and conditions affecting fertility, sexual function, hormone levels, and structural abnormalities.
Advanced procedures available at the unit include microsurgical varicocelectomy, penile prosthesis implantation for severe erectile dysfunction, testicular biopsy and sperm extraction techniques (TESA, TESE, Micro-TESE) for IVF or ICSI, hormonal therapy for hypogonadism, penile curvature correction surgery, PRP and shockwave therapy for erectile dysfunction, penile lengthening surgery, and comprehensive gender change surgeries.
Dr Sanish Shringarpure said, “Men’s sexual and reproductive health has long been neglected and many patients rely on unsafe or unscientific methods due to a lack of awareness. Conditions such as infertility, erectile dysfunction and hormonal imbalance require proper diagnosis and treatment. There is a growing number of youngsters seeking medically supervised penile lengthening procedures, and the dedicated clinic offers safe and ethical solutions under expert care.”
Dr Vikas Bhise noted that common urological conditions such as kidney stones, prostate enlargement and urinary tract infections are increasingly seen and many cases of erectile dysfunction and infertility have underlying urological causes like varicocele or obstructive azoospermia. With timely intervention, ED or infertility can be effectively managed.
“The clinic aims to break the silence around men’s health, encourage open conversations, and provide advanced, compassionate care to improve reproductive health and overall quality of life,” concluded Sandip Joshi, Centre Head, Medicover Hospitals, Navi Mumbai.
