The EBUS is designed to support the diagnosis and staging of various lung disorders
Fujifilm India has installed their first state-of-the-art Endobronchial Ultrasound System (EBUS) at ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Faridabad to assist doctors in carrying out advanced lung diagnosis. The inauguration ceremony was done by Bhupender Yadav, Union Cabinet Minister of Labour and Employment and Krishna Pal Gujjar, Minister of State of Power and Heavy Industries.
Installed at the Hospital’s Respiratory Medicine Department, the system was inaugurated by the Medical Commissioner of ESIC, Dr Anshu Chhabra, Mukhmeet S Bhatia (Director General) and TL Yaden (Financial Commissioner). Additionally, the Dean of ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Faridabad, Dr Asim Das, Dr MK Sen, Head of Department – Respiratory Medicine and Prof Ruchi Arora Sachdeva were also present at the event.
The EBUS is designed to support the diagnosis and staging of various lung disorders. With its enhanced distal angulation and slim design, this bronchoscope provides innovative ways for doctors to use it in a range of procedures. The bronchoscopy aids doctors to diagnose lung disorders including inflammation, cancer or infections. Using a tube which goes from the patient’s mouth to the windpipe and lungs, the EBUS scope uses a video camera and ultrasound probe to image the lungs and lymph nodes for accurate location and evaluation of the system.
Koji Wada, MD, Fujifilm India said, “Fujifilm has always been committed to introducing innovative medical diagnostic and screening devices which help reduce the burden on the healthcare system. With this installation of EBUS at the ESIC Hospital, Faridabad, we are pleased to enter a new chapter of our journey in the country and help doctors accurately diagnose and detect lung disorders for treatment. With this milestone, we will continue to NEVER STOP investing in the betterment of society through our products and services and serve Indians with high-quality healthcare support.”
