India’s radiology sector is booming thanks to longer life expectancies, greater health awareness, and schemes like Ayushman Bharat that expand access to diagnostics. Yet rising imaging demands in preventive care, chronic diseases, and emergencies call for smarter, scalable tech that works beyond big cities. At the Indian Radiological and Imaging Association (IRIA) 2026 conference, FUJIFILM India unveiled four key solutions: the FCT iStream CT scanner, FFDM Sophinity mammography systems, FDR Smart X Essential digital X-ray, and HCIT Fenix healthcare IT platform. These tools target surging patient volumes, staff shortages, and complex diagnostics while prioritizing quality and efficiency.
The star is FCT iStream, a CT system rooted in a “Less is More” philosophy. It delivers sharp images with low radiation doses via AI-driven automation from Synergy-Drive and REiLI tech. Features like automated patient setup, scan planning, reconstruction, and SYNAPSE 3D integration streamline workflows. Organ-specific dose controls support oncology, cardiology, neurology, trauma, and screening, helping radiologists handle high loads with confidence.
For women’s health, FFDM Sophinity mammography stands out with a patient-friendly design, high-res imaging, AI positioning, tomosynthesis, and contrast options. These advanced early breast cancer detection align with preventive screening goals.
FDR Smart X Essential X-ray systems bring reliability to busy hospitals and small clinics. Compact and flexible, they ensure consistent quality with optional AI interfaces, extending essential imaging to urban and rural areas.
HCIT Fenix ties it all together as a “Make in India” platform blending PACS, RIS, mobility, and smart tools. It enables seamless data sharing, quick decisions, and easy integration for hospitals, centers, and teleradiology.
Mr. Nobuo Matsunobe, General Manager, Modality Systems Division, Medical Systems Business, FUJIFILM Corporation, said, “Fujifilm’s healthcare innovation is driven by a deep focus on image quality, dose optimization, and workflow automation across modalities. The solutions showcased at IRIA 2026, from FCT iStream and AMULET SOPHINITY to FDR Smart X Essential, ARIETTA 750 DeepInsight, and our healthcare IT platforms, reflect our approach of combining AI-enabled technologies with clinician-centric design to address rising imaging volumes, optimize operational efficiency, and enhance diagnostic confidence. These technologies are designed to perform consistently across diverse clinical environments while meeting global standards of quality and reliability.”
Mr. Koji Wada, Managing Director, FUJIFILM India, added, “India’s diagnostic imaging needs are evolving rapidly, with increasing demand for accuracy, speed, and access across care settings.
