Gleneagles Hospital Chennai unveils eye centre

The facility is located at 14-acre campus in Perumbakkam

Gleneagles Hospital Chennai has launched the Gleneagles Eye Centre (GEC) at its flagship 14-acre campus in Perumbakkam, marking a major milestone of its ophthalmology services. The new facility is a comprehensive, integrated centre that brings advanced eye care under one roof, from diagnostics and consultation to surgery and post-operative care.

Dr Sudha Seshayyan, Vice Chairperson of the Central Institute of Classical Tamil and Director, SASTRA University, Chennai inaugurated the centre in the presence of Dr E Ravindra Mohan, Director, Gleneagles Eye Centre and Dr Nageswar Rao K, CEO, Gleneagles Hospitals Chennai.

“It is heartening to see Gleneagles Hospital investing in a facility that addresses not just common eye conditions, but also complex and rare ocular disorders with compassion and clinical excellence,” the Chief Guest, Dr Sudha Seshayyan, Vice Chairperson of the Central Institute of Classical Tamil and Director, SASTRA University, Chennai.

Dr E Ravindra Mohan, Director, Gleneagles Eye Centre, said “We aim to provide holistic, multidisciplinary, and high-quality eye care. By integrating ophthalmology with other specialities like neurology, oncology, and plastic surgery, we now ensure that patients receive precise and personalised treatment under one roof.”

“Designed as a one-stop destination for all levels of eye care, the Centre is equipped with outpatient, day-care, inpatient, ICU, and surgical facilities with seamless support from in-house medical and surgical specialists and diagnostic departments,” added Dr E Ravindra Mohan.
