Glenmark Pharmaceuticals hosts drug discovery workshop for Sion Hospital students

The event had over 3000 MBBS student delegates from across the country and around the world

Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, an integrated, research‐led, global pharmaceutical company, hosted MBBS students at one of its R&D centres in Mumbai for a special workshop on drug discovery. The workshop is part of Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College’s (LTMMC) Trinity event that brings together over 3000 MBBS student delegates from across the country and around the world. As part of Glenmark’s ongoing commitment to fostering innovation and research in the medical field, the R&D centre tour was aimed at encouraging medical students to explore new horizons in their academic journey.

This year, the opportunity was extended to 74 student delegates from LTMMC (Sion Hospital). It is a continuation of similar tours for students being done by Glenmark for the last 12 years. The tour commenced with an informative 15-minute introductory session, providing an overview of Glenmark’s journey in pharma research and development. Through this tour, the student delegates had the chance to witness the multiple avenues of an R&D centre that works together to develop medicines responsible for treating patients.

Over the years, Glenmark had the privilege of collaborating with renowned hospitals such as LTMMC (Sion Hospital) and KEM Hospital to support various initiatives promoting medical education and research.

The Glenmark Drug Discovery Workshop tour has become an annual tradition, taking place just before the commencement of the Trinity conference. Through this immersive experience, Glenmark aims to inspire the next generation of medical professionals and drive them towards making significant contributions in the field of research.
