HLL Lifecare Limited has launched AMRIT Plus, a premium pharmacy chain offering medicines, medical devices and wellness products, along with speciality HINDLABS and home healthcare services, expanding its healthcare access initiatives.
The premium pharmacy chain aims to strengthen healthcare access for millions across India by providing quality medical supplies and wellness products at competitive prices.
This launch follows HLL’s earlier AMRIT (Affordable Medicine and Reliable Implants for Treatment) Pharmacy initiative, which was designed to provide affordable medical items, including medicines, surgical items, consumables and implants for cancer, cardiovascular and other diseases.
The AMRIT Plus expansion represents HLL’s strategy to strengthen its retail presence with an ambitious plan to expand Amrit Pharmacies to 550 outlets by 2027, building on its existing network of affordable medical supply outlets.
The company is also engaged in projects of the National Health Mission across Assam, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh under state free diagnostic service initiatives, providing advanced diagnostic infrastructure.
HLL Lifecare, a mini-ratna public sector undertaking under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, has entered into agreements with state governments, including Maharashtra, to provide quality diagnostic services in around 2,300 state-run health centres, with diagnostic centres becoming operational within 90 days.
The diagnostic centres will offer more than 100 tests from hospital centres, including high-end special molecular diagnostic tests, at rates much lower than market prices, making diagnostic tests available to the public in the remotest villages.
The company is also implementing similar diagnostic projects in Assam, Kerala and Odisha, partnering with the National Health Mission to strengthen public healthcare infrastructure.
