The IndiaAI Mission, an initiative of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), in collaboration with the World Health Organisation (WHO), has issued a global call for abstracts to spotlight impactful and scalable applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare systems.
According to the ministry, shortlisted entries will be invited to contribute a chapter to the forthcoming “Casebook on AI Health Use Cases Across the Global South.” This highly anticipated compendium will be launched at the India-AI Impact Summit 2026, slated to be held in New Delhi in February. Jointly developed by IndiaAI and WHO, the Casebook aims to serve as an invaluable reference for policymakers, innovators, and researchers seeking to replicate and scale successfully implemented AI solutions across developing economies.
The initiative seeks to capture real-world experiences, best practices, and lessons learned to strengthen responsible AI adoption and accelerate the digital transformation of healthcare. Researchers, innovators, and institutions from the Global South are invited to submit abstracts—limited to 250 words—describing successful, scalable, and implementable AI use cases in health. The submission deadline for abstracts is October 31, 2025, and detailed guidelines are available on the official IndiaAI events webpage.
Entries will be evaluated on their relevance, innovation, quality, and thematic alignment with the Casebook’s objective to promote effective, ethical, and practical AI deployment in health systems. Selected contributors will be invited to submit detailed chapters (2,500–3,000 words) discussing the AI solution, deployment strategies, impact achieved, ethical considerations, and critical insights.
Final chapter submissions are due by December 15. Outstanding entries will not only be published in the Casebook but also have an opportunity to be showcased at the India-AI Impact Summit 2026. This initiative is set to foster global collaboration, sharing of insights, and further the adoption of AI solutions that drive inclusive progress in healthcare across the Global South.
