Dr Pankaj Garg, President, IAP Delhi, “Given the rise in paediatric sensitive skin conditions, there is an urgent need to strengthen awareness amongst both the paediatric community and parents. The Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP) has put in place standardised guidelines to better manage sensitive skin, emphasising gentle care, avoidance of irritants and harsh products along with regular usage of emollients containing ceramides, lipids and natural colloid oatmeal, making it a cornerstone in the management of paediatric sensitive skin conditions. We complement Kenvue for its continued efforts to enhance science and educational initiatives to improve awareness about skin health in children.”
Spotlighting case studies from paediatric and dermatological lens, Dr Arun Wadhwa, a seasoned paediatrician and Dr Sheilly Kapoor illustrated practical challenges in treating sensitive skin conditions and successful interventions like complete emollient therapy, which help reduce the need of steroids, impact on a baby’s quality of life.

Sensitive skin conditions, especially in babies, critically impact the overall well-being of a child as well as their families. However, there continues to be limited awareness about sensitive skin conditions and necessary measures to manage them. Over the years, Aveeno Baby has been committed to raising awareness about sensitive skin conditions. ‘Oat Nature Lab’, our global-first-of-its-kind scientific immersion around oats efficacy marks a significant step towards strengthening awareness about sensitive skin conditions in the paediatric population.”
Dr Dilip Tripathi, Regional Head, Baby & Women’s Health Research & Development, Kenvue said, “For generations, Kenvue has been advancing science around colloidal oatmeal in addressing sensitive conditions to help restore, nourish and protect a baby’s skin. While many sensitive skin ingredients simply moisturise, oat provides relief to dry, itchy skin and helps restore the skin’s natural ceramide balance and microbiome. We remain committed to working closely with paediatricians and dermatologists to strengthen awareness and provide innovative, science-backed solutions in managing these conditions to improve overall health outcomes of children.”
