KIMSHEALTH Trivandrum has been honoured by the Kerala government for its outstanding efforts in tuberculosis eradication. The recognition was awarded for reporting, treating, and ensuring compliance for the highest number of TB patients in the private sector. The hospital received two awards from the Directorate of Health Services, the State TB Cell, and the District TB Centre.
At a ceremony held at KIMSHEALTH, Dr Dhanuja VA, District TB Officer, presented the award to Dr MI Sahadulla, CMD, KIMSHEALTH. As part of its commitment to TB elimination, KIMSHEALTH is also organising the ‘2025 End TB Initiative’, offering free TB screening for household members of diagnosed patients. Dr Dhanuja applauded KIMSHEALTH’s exemplary efforts in TB eradication and assured support for the contact tracing initiative, which aims to detect hidden TB cases within households.
Dr MI Sahadulla emphasised the importance of public-private collaboration in eradicating tuberculosis. He highlighted the country's progress toward faster and more accurate TB detection methods, improved treatments, and AI-driven diagnostic solutions. Dr A Rajalakshmi, Senior Consultant, and Dr Muhammed Niyas, Consultant, Department of Infectious Diseases, were also present at the event.
