The next-generation system integrates artificial intelligence to continuously analyse patient vitals during transit
KIMS Hospitals, Thane, has launched an AI-integrated 5G Smart Ambulance in Thane near Mumbai, in partnership with Medulance. This cutting-edge ambulance system is set to transform pre-hospital critical care by enabling real-time, AI-based patient monitoring and seamless 5G connectivity.
Unlike standard 5G-enabled ambulances, this next-generation system integrates artificial intelligence to continuously analyse patient vitals during transit, allowing emergency doctors to initiate care protocols before the patient arrives.
“The golden hour can mean the difference between life and death in cases of trauma, cardiac arrest, or stroke,” said Dr Ankit Biyani, HOD – Emergency Medicine at KIMS Hospitals, Thane. “With our AI-integrated 5G Smart Ambulance, clinical decisions can begin before the patient reaches the hospital—redefining what timely intervention looks like in emergency care.”
Saurabh Gupta, Regional COO, KIMS Hospitals, Thane, mentioned, “By merging 5G connectivity with AI capabilities, we aim to significantly reduce emergency response times and save more lives through unparalleled medical excellence for the people of Thane and Maharashtra.”
Dr Amit Raodeo, Chief of Critical Care at KIMS Hospitals, Thane, emphasised the critical value for critical cases: “With emergencies, every second matters. The AI-driven smart ambulance gives us a clear clinical window even before the patient reaches us, which can be the difference between recovery and long-term damage.”
