AI capabilities in digital dentistry will be expanded

Laxmi Dental announced that its Board of Directors has approved an investment in IDBG AI Dent Global (AI Dent), a Gujarat-based healthcare technology company focussed on artificial intelligence applications in dentistry.

Upon completion, Laxmi Dental Limited will hold 58 per cent of the capital in AI Dent. The objective of the acquisition is to strengthen the company’s research and development and expand its technology offerings.

Through this investment, Laxmi Dental aims to build local capability in AI for dental care, enabling dentists to adopt faster, data-driven processes while reducing procedural complexity for patients. The focus is on creating systems that support dentists in delivering consistent care and give patients improved access, accuracy, and clarity in diagnosis and treatment.

Rajesh Khakhar, Chairperson and Whole-Time Director, Laxmi Dental Limited, said, “AI is the next phase of evolution in dentistry. It is shaping how care is delivered in clinics around the world. Our investment in AI Dent is designed to bring that shift closer to Indian dentists and patients. We are focused on building tools that assist dentists in their work and make dental visits simpler and more understandable for patients. This is not only about digital adoption, it is about preparing dentists for the future and improving the experience for every patient who seeks care. We see this as a step toward building capability in India and leading AI-driven dentistry globally.”

Dr Ishan Dhruva, Founder and Director, AI Dent said, “Laxmi Dental’s investment marks a powerful step toward transforming digital dentistry in India. At AI Dent, we bring together dental expertise, deep AI learning, and cloud technology to make high-quality diagnostics available to everyone, anytime, anywhere.
