Lubrizol and Polyhose Inaugurate Advanced Medical Tubing Facility in Chennai

Lubrizol and Polyhose inaugurate a Chennai medical tubing facility to boost India’s MedTech manufacturing and device supply chain.

Lubrizol and Polyhose have inaugurated a new medical manufacturing facility in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, marking a fresh step in strengthening India’s medical technology ecosystem. The site will manufacture precision extruded medical tubing for minimally invasive devices, supporting the country’s fast-growing MedTech and healthcare sectors.

The facility has been designed as a world-class operation and is certified to ISO 13485 standards, offering customers a reliable source of high-quality medical tubing backed by dedicated quality control processes. It will produce precision extruded tubing using a range of high-performance materials, including polyamides, nylon, Pebax®, polypropylene, polyethylene and Lubrizol’s medical-grade thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU).

Speaking on the launch, John Valukas, President, Lubrizol Engineered Materials, said, “It is an important milestone in Lubrizol’s commitment to India and to supporting our customers in the global medical device industry. By combining Lubrizol’s medical device expertise with the manufacturing strength of local partners in India, this facility will deliver advanced tubing solutions for life-saving neurovascular and cardiovascular applications.”
