Luxid Tech has launched its VueAR Glass in India, marking the company’s entry into the country’s hospital technology market with an augmented-reality solution designed to improve patient counselling and support nursing workflows.
The launch comes as Indian hospitals increasingly look for technology that can improve patient experience while helping healthcare professionals manage time and workload more efficiently. VueAR Glass focuses on two areas where technology can potentially make a practical difference — explaining complex medical procedures to patients and improving access to relevant information for nursing teams.
Making Patient Counselling More Interactive : Pre-surgery counselling requires doctors and healthcare professionals to explain procedures, treatment steps and recovery expectations to patients and their families. When robotic surgery is involved, explaining the technology can make the process even more detailed.
VueAR Glass enables hospitals to create customised three-dimensional visual modules for different surgical procedures. Patients can use the glasses to view a visual representation of their procedure, understand the different stages of treatment and explore relevant anatomy from multiple perspectives.
The content can be paused and revisited, allowing patients and families to understand complex information at their own pace. Doctors and counsellors continue to answer questions and conduct the informed-consent process, while the visual experience is designed to reduce repetitive explanations and improve patient understanding.
Supporting Nursing Teams: The second application of VueAR Glass is focused on nursing workflows, particularly in intensive care units (ICUs), where continuous monitoring of patients is essential.
Nurses regularly track heart rate, oxygen saturation, blood pressure and other vital parameters across multiple patients. VueAR Glass is designed to display selected patient information and alerts within a nurse’s field of view while moving through the ward.
This can help reduce unnecessary movement between beds, fixed monitors and workstations, while allowing nurses to access relevant information more conveniently. The technology is designed to complement existing hospital systems, bedside assessment and clinical judgment rather than replace healthcare professionals.
Built for Healthcare Use:
Weighing approximately 78 grams, VueAR Glass is designed to be lightweight for patient counselling and professional use. The device supports three-dimensional content and can connect with digital systems.
Its VueAR software development kit (SDK) allows hospitals and technology partners to create customised counselling modules and data views based on specific procedures, departments and workflows.
