Maha chief minister unveils Mylab’s CoviSelf

Designed as the mid-nasal swab test, it can detect positive results in just 15 mins

Udhhav Thackeray, Chief Minister of Maharashtra, unveiled Mylab Discovery Solutions’, CoviSelf, COVID-19 self-test kit. It can be used by individuals with or without symptoms and immediate contacts of confirmed cases as per the ICMR guidelines. Designed as the mid-nasal swab test, it can detect positive results in just 15 mins.

Thackeray said, “Innovative ideas have the power to change the world. When these ideas come to fruition, they leave a lasting positive impact on society. It is heartening to see that young entrepreneurs from Maharashtra have made the whole country proud. Maharashtra has been a centre of innovations to help India fight this pandemic and Mylab’s contribution is very unique and gives hope to the whole country.”

Dilip Walse Patil, Home Minister of Maharashtra, mentioned, “COVID-19 is a pandemic of unprecedented scale, and it takes efforts at all fronts to fight it effectively. It is great to see how entrepreneurs of the state have developed solutions that were until now only available in developed countries. We will continue to encourage innovation in healthcare and encourage start-ups to go global.”

Hasmukh Rawal, Founder and MD, Mylab Discovery Solutions, a biotechnologist-turned entrepreneur from Pune, said, “Start-ups can only scale up when there is a conducive ecosystem around them.
