Medical Fair India 2019 Kickstarts in New Delhi with over 250 Indian Exhibitors

The 25th Medical Fair India was inaugurated by Shri Devender Singh, Advisor to Minister Shri Ashwini Kumar Choubey  at the Pragati Maidan Exhibition Center in New Delhi yesterday with a total of 600 exhibitors and more than 250 Indian exhibitors this year. It will be on for three days from 21 – 23 February 2019.

Make in India and AIMED’s pavilion at MFI 2019  showcased the immense potential of India, its high precisioned engineering yet affordable, technologically advanced design, innovation, manufacturing and export hub raising high the brand India flag.

New additions to this year’s Fair are Digital Healthcare by Future for Health, Reha India (powered by REHACARE) with ranges for rehabilitation and nursing care, VoH & CliniLab conference , a 2-day conference dealing with various cross-sector topics related to the implementation of a modern healthcare system and Technology Mela by Kalam Institute of Health care technology where 75 innovative technologies from 20 academic institutions will be displayed for commercialization. Alongside this new area other focal segments on display at MEDICAL FAIR INDIA 2019 include: medical products and devices, laboratory technology and diagnostics, clinic and health centre furniture, and the health IT segments now so on trend the world over as well as mobile health solutions.

Addressing International Conference at MFI 2019, Rajiv Nath, Forum Coordinator, AIMED said , “Medical Fair India is getting bigger and better with every edition. With MFI 2019, we seek  Medical Devices Law to regulate quality and ensure patient safety, revision of DPCo to enable rationalised price controls to protect consumers by capping trade margins over import landed, tariff at 15-20% to be in line with mobile phone so that make in Indian can prosper along with other regulatory framework, favourable policies and ecosystem support.  We invite colleagues and fellow exhibitors of this global village to invest in India by technical collaborations, Joint Ventures and own factories to explore this incredible market place.”

Rajiv Nath also highlighted key recommendations to place India among the Top 5 Medical Devices manufacturing hubs worldwide and end the 70-90% import dependence forced upon us and an import bill of over Rs 31, 000 crore:

  • Medical Devices Law to regulate quality and ensure patient safety
  • Revision of DPCO to enable rationalised price controls to protect consumers by capping Trade Margins over import landed and Ex -factory price
  • Tariff at 15-20% to be in line with mobile phone so Make in Indian and Made in India will prosper.
