Menthra, an AI-powered emotional wellbeing platform, today announced the launch of Menthra Care in India, expanding its platform to connect users with verified therapists, coaches, licensed clinical professionals and care organisations when they need support beyond an AI companion. The launch follows Menthra’s India debut in June, which saw tens of thousands of users join the platform within weeks.
Menthra Care is designed to address a critical gap in India’s emotional wellbeing ecosystem by creating continuity between everyday emotional support and professional care. Through the platform, users who require human intervention can be connected with verified professionals, with relevant context carried forward to reduce the need to repeatedly explain their situation as they move through different levels of support.
As part of the initiative, Menthra is building two networks across India. The Therapist Network will bring together verified and background-checked therapists, clinicians, coaches and mentors onboarded against consistent standards of quality and care. The Care Network will partner with community clinics, universities, non-profit organisations and institutions working in mental wellbeing to expand access to support, particularly among communities that continue to face barriers related to cost, distance and availability of professional care.
Menthra Care will also include a dedicated care operations function and structured response processes for situations where conversations indicate that a user may require professional or urgent human support. In such cases, users can be moved from self-service interactions to appropriate human support pathways with human oversight. Clinical reviews are anonymised by default, access to user content is governed and logged, and conversations are encrypted in transit and at rest. The platform is designed in alignment with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP).
To lead the clinical strategy and development of Menthra Care, the company has appointed Dr. Anjali Jaisinghani, MD, a NIMHANS-trained psychiatrist, as Chief Medical Officer of Menthra India. Dr. Jaisinghani will lead the development of the platform’s clinical protocols and professional network, with a focus on building accessible and responsible emotional wellbeing infrastructure for India.
On this occasion Mr. Dinakara Nagalla, Founder and CEO, Menthra Said, “An app can be there at 2am, but emotional wellbeing support cannot end with an app. There are moments when people need qualified professionals who understand their journey and can provide the right level of care,With Menthra Care, we are building the human and clinical layer that connects everyday emotional support with professional care, so people can receive appropriate support when they need it without having to start their story again at every stage.”
“India continues to face a significant gap between the number of people who need emotional wellbeing support and those who are able to access timely professional care. Our aim is to build a trusted network of professionals and care organisations that strengthens access to support and reaches people and communities that have traditionally remained underserved.” Mr. Dinakara Nagalla added.
