To drive tech-enabled healthcare revolutionNarayana Health has partnered with Athma, a pioneering Health tech company. The healthcare provider said that this collaboration is set to transform the landscape of Indian healthcare by integrating advanced technology into every aspect of hospital operations. The challenges of modern healthcare require more than traditional approaches. Dr Devi Shetty, Founder and Chairman, Narayana Health said, “Technology gives the rich people what they always had in a better format. But technology will give poor people what they can never dream of having and this is the beauty of technology. What it will do is to democratise healthcare”.Narayana Health identified several critical issues prior to the tech integration: long queues and extended waiting times, along with a lack of visibility into doctors’ schedules, resulted in a less engaging patient experience. Legacy systems and siloed operations across its network hindered effective communication and patient record management. The increasing patient load and the volume of diagnostic, prescription, and treatment data overwhelmed healthcare professionals. Additionally, manual paperwork and resource allocation issues resulted in inaccurate data and delays in care delivery.Athma's technology seamlessly integrates into Narayana Health's operations, deploying advanced clinical, operational, and app-based solutions tailored to the hospital group's specific needs. These solutions, including Electronic Health Records (EHR), laboratory information systems (LIS), billing, inventory management, and patient care apps, prioritise user experience and require minimal training, the press statement informed.Dr Pradeep Kumar Nayak, Senior Cardiologist, Narayana Health, noted, "Using Athmâ has saved me so much time. It helps me enter relevant information on the go, making administrative tasks less stressful and allowing me more time with my patients." The collaboration has helped significantly boost Narayana Health’s revenue by Rs 200 Crores from 2021 to 2023 and reduce discharge time by almost 50 per cent. The partnership has also introduced several innovative mobile solutions. Aadi, the doctor's app, acts as a digital assistant, facilitating real-time communication among care team members and providing live patient data updates. In the coming years, Narayana Health and Athma plan to expand with the integration of AI and machine learning to personalise patient care, strengthen telemedicine platforms, and improve the EHR system with predictive analytics that can foresee and mitigate potential health issues before they become critical. Together, Narayana Health and Athma are not just adapting to the future—they are creating it.
