NephroPlus operationalises two more dialysis centres in Uzbekistan

NephroPlus will provide dialysis care to over 1,100 patients in Uzbekistan

NephroPlus announces further expansion of its services in the Republic of Uzbekistan. The company is constructing four dialysis centres on a turnkey basis as a part of a broader partnership with the Ministry of Health, the Republic of Uzbekistan after securing a contract worth $100 million, where they will independently commission and operationalise these centres. Three centres have already been operationalised.

NephroPlus announces the opening of two new dialysis centres, one each in Urgench and Bogot, Uzbekistan. While the first centre in Nukus, Karakalpakstan, became operational on April 22. This facility is the newest location in NephroPlus’ expanding global footprint. The company plans to open the fourth centre in Tashkent, a 160-bedded centre soon. 

NephroPlus will provide high-quality dialysis care to over 1,100 patients in Uzbekistan. For this project, NephroPlus has established a 100 per cent owned local subsidiary to operate the centres. NephroPlus intends to implement its RenAssure protocols to deliver a synchronised and convenient patient experience in Uzbekistan. 

Despite the challenges of COVID-19, NephroPlus was successful in operationalising three centres. On this occasion, Vikram Vuppala, Founder and CEO, NephroPlus, said, “Our ambition to extend high-quality dialysis services is a testament to our commitment. In Uzbekistan, NephroPlus has done construction to commissioning on a turnkey basis and will further introduce Peritoneal Dialysis services, wherein people can obtain dialysis in the comfort of their homes.” 

Speaking on this achievement and its subsequent impact, Gapparov Faruk Abdukaxarovich, PPP Head, Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan went on to share, “Amidst the growing demand for quality dialysis in the country, we are committed to improving the healthcare services in the country through unique and dynamic PPP model wherein, NephroPlus, has been selected through an open competitive bidding process. Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Government is working to continually expand affordable and top-notch healthcare infrastructure in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
