Neuberg Diagnostics hosts Pathfinders 2023

The conference discussed the latest advancements in diagnostics and their impact on personalised medicine

Neuberg Diagnostics recently hosted its annual global pathology conference, Pathfinders 2023. The conference, based on the theme, ‘Understanding Today to Predict a Better Tomorrow,’ was attended by over 500 doctors from across the globe. The conference was a platform to bring together renowned speakers from the medical fraternity to discuss the latest advancements in diagnostics and their impact on personalised medicine.

The conference aimed to explore the Neu-Age of Diagnostics Advancements in Oncology, Reproductive Medicine, Proteomics, and Data Analytics and shed light on what the present and future hold for the realm of personalized medicine.

Dr GSK Velu, CMD, Neuberg Diagnostics, said, “We are proud to host Pathfinders 2023, our fourth global pathology conference. On Day one of the conference, topics related to oncopathology, proteomics, reproductive medicine, and genomics were discussed. The sessions explored various aspects of medical research, including inheritable solid organ tumours, biomarker discovery, and clinical utility in bone marrow transplant and chemotherapy patients. Overall, day 1 showcased the changing landscape of medical research and its practical implementation in clinical settings.

Day two of the conference focussed on oncology, hematolymphoid neoplasms, and data analytics. The sessions explored the use of targeted mutational analysis and epigenetic advances in diagnosing and managing lymphomas and myeloma, as well as the potential of data analytics, artificial intelligence, and lab digitalisation in impacting healthcare. Overall, day 2 showcased the potential of cutting-edge technologies in advancing medical research and transforming clinical practice.

The keynote speakers of the event were Dr Anita Borges, Center of Excellence Histopathology, Tata Trust; Dr Ralph Fingerhut, Head of Newborn Screening, SYNLAB MVZ Weiden, Germany & Associated Professor for Biochemistry, Technical University of Deggendorf, Germany. Dr Borges delivered an oration for the Late Dr Ajit Golwilkar, a legend and pioneer in the field of diagnostics in India. She spoke about the importance of histopathology in cancer diagnosis.

Dr Jayaram Iyengar, the organising chairperson of the event, said, “We are delighted with the success of our Pathfinders 2023 event. We believe that our idea of providing a platform for doctors and researchers to exchange ideas and collaborate to find new and innovative solutions to medical challenges has been a huge success.”

The conference also had panel discussions around Lymphoma and Myeloma moderated by Dr Abhay Bhave and Dr Sanyal. The panel discussions were intense, highly informative, and very well-liked by the audience.
