The hospital unveiled a 3D breast imaging system to boost early cancer detection and launch a free women’s screening drive.
Dharamshila Narayana Superspeciality Hospital opened its advanced 3D mammography unit on Thursday as part of Cancer Survivor Month. The ceremony, led by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, also marked the start of a free women’s cancer screening programme and implementation of the Ayushman Bharat scheme for eligible patients.
According to The Economic Times, the new 3D mammography machine delivers precise breast scans with lower radiation. It allows doctors to spot small abnormalities earlier, making screening accessible to women across income levels and cutting the rate of late-stage breast cancer diagnoses.
Chief Minister Gupta said the digital unit will speed up diagnosis and support timely treatment. Dr Emmanuel Rupert, Managing Director and Group CEO of Narayana Health, announced 5,000 free mammograms, pap smears, and clinical exams, plus a mobile diagnostic van to bring these services to underserved areas in Delhi.
