The weight loss drug collaboration between Novo Nordisk and Hims & Hers Health has been discontinued just months after launch.
Novo Nordisk has ended its recent collaboration with Hims & Hers Health, halting the supply of its popular weight loss drug, Wegovy. The companies had formed a partnership in April to allow Hims & Hers to offer Wegovy through a bundled service via its telehealth platform.
According to The Economic Times, the deal aimed to expand access to the drug, which has seen rising demand globally. However, in a statement released on Monday, Novo Nordisk announced that Hims & Hers Health would no longer have direct access to Wegovy via the NovoCare Pharmacy network. The decision marks a shift in Novo Nordisk’s distribution strategy, though the company has not shared further details on the reasons for ending the arrangement.
Hims & Hers Health had positioned the bundled offering as part of its broader telehealth services aimed at treating chronic conditions, including obesity. With this development, the future of similar collaborations in the fast-growing weight management space may come under review, especially as supply and access remain major industry concerns.
