Onco-Life Cancer Centre recently organised an exclusive Doctors’ Scientific Evening, bringing together oncologists, surgeons, radiation specialists, physicians and other healthcare professionals for a programme dedicated to scientific learning, multidisciplinary collaboration and professional networking. The event combined academic sessions, technology updates and informal interactions, offering a platform for cancer specialists to exchange knowledge on emerging therapies while also fostering camaraderie beyond the clinical setting.
The academic programme highlighted several important developments in oncology, including the role of Helical TomoTherapy in managing complex and challenging cancer cases and recent progress in precision oncology, immunotherapy and targeted therapy. Experts also discussed modern surgical approaches such as organ preservation strategies, HIPEC and multidisciplinary treatment planning, underscoring the need for coordinated care to improve patient outcomes. A panel discussion on the future of multidisciplinary cancer care enabled specialists from different fields to share perspectives on delivering comprehensive, evidence-based treatment, and the evening concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session and closing remarks.
The event featured a special scientific presentation by Elekta showcasing recent advancements in Online Adaptive Technology and its role in improving precision radiation therapy. Online adaptive radiotherapy allows clinicians to adjust treatment plans in real time based on the patient’s anatomy at the time of treatment, helping to better target tumours while sparing healthy tissue and enhancing the personalisation of cancer care. Following the academic sessions, participating doctors joined a networking segment that encouraged meaningful interactions and the exchange of clinical experiences across specialties.
