Online Chikitsa Mitra empowers rural India with accessible healthcare
The health-tech start-up has announced the setting up of 200 new e-Clinics across districts of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra
Online Chikitsa Mitra, a pioneering telemedicine-driven rural health-tech start-up, is making quality healthcare accessible to Indians by setting up several e-Clinics across the country.
Committed to enhancing medical accessibility, Online Chikitsa Mitra connects remote individuals with specialist doctors from across the country through its e-Clinics at local medical stores. Store owners are trained to facilitate tele consultations for patients via its digital portal, ensuring they receive necessary quality care and after-care without the need to travel long distances to the nearest hospital, which is sometimes over 50 kilometres away.
The start-up has firmly established a significant presence in India with a network comprising over 500 e-Clinics, strategically spread across 13+ states, catering to a substantial base of over 40,000 patients. With a 34 per cent repeat patient rate, Online Chikitsa Mitra is set to expand further with the addition of 200 new e-Clinics expected to be established this year. This expansion will be well concentrated in areas where access to healthcare services is currently limited, ensuring that more individuals in underserved communities can benefit from quality healthcare.
Smriti Tandon, Co-founder of Online Chikitsa Mitra shared, “For every 1400 patients, India has just one doctor. At Online Chikitsa Mitra, we are on a mission to set up 1 lakh e-clinics across India to close this gap. With a vision of bringing specialised healthcare closer to every home, we are establishing standardised telemedicine hubs in medicine stores across every city, town and village of the country.”
Online Chikitsa Mitra not only remains steadfast in its commitment to transforming healthcare in rural India, but it also commits to empowering individuals so they can take control of their well-being and ensure long-term patient relief with a team that makes them feel heard and understood. Through partnerships, the start-up has opened new business opportunities for small and medium-sized medical store owners who want to improve services and increase revenue and make a positive impact in their neighbourhood.
The expansion of its e-clinic network and continual improvement in offerings, such as the introduction of patient relief services, highlight the team’s dedication towards making a lasting impact on the health and well-being of communities nationwide.
