PharmEasy is scaling up its online doctor consultation service as more Indians turn to digital channels for timely medical advice on everyday health issues. The Doctor Consult service, available through the PharmEasy app, connects users with licensed doctors via audio or video calls, offering a convenient and private alternative to in-person visits for non-emergency care.

Powered by a network of over 70 licensed doctors, PharmEasy Doctor Consult is designed to handle both routine and sensitive health concerns across more than 20 medical specialties. The platform has a strong focus on Tier 2 cities, where access to specialists can be limited, enabling users to reach qualified clinicians from wherever they are, without compromising on privacy or continuity of care.

General physicians account for nearly 85 per cent of all consultations on the platform, reflecting a clear preference among users to begin their care journey with a GP before moving to a specialist if required. Only a small proportion of users choose to connect directly with a specialist for their first consult, indicating that digital platforms are increasingly mirroring traditional referral patterns in primary care.

PharmEasy is also tracking a steady rise in demand for support related to stress management and overall emotional well-being among younger users. In response, the company plans to onboard dedicated mental health specialists on the platform, aiming to integrate psychological support into its broader care journey and reduce barriers to seeking help for anxiety, mood concerns and work-related stress.

Usage patterns suggest that working professionals are inclining towards online consults in their daily schedules. Demand for consultations is typically highest in the morning between 8 am and 12 pm, and again in the evening between 6 pm and 10 pm, allowing users to seek advice before or after work without taking time off. Overall volumes tend to peak over weekends, when people have more flexibility to address pending health issues.

The service has gained traction across major urban centres, including Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata and Gurugram, while also looking to deepen reach in emerging cities. PharmEasy Doctor Consult has recorded average month-on-month growth of nearly 15 per cent over the past three months, alongside a repeat consultation rate of close to 20 per cent, which the company views as a marker of user satisfaction and trust in follow-up care.

Commenting on the growing adoption of digital consultations, Gaurav Verma, Chief Business Officer at PharmEasy (API Holdings), said, “More people are now seeking medical advice earlier instead of waiting for symptoms to worsen. He added that online consultations are helping to bridge gaps by offering timely and affordable care, particularly in Tier 2 cities, while also giving users a safe, private avenue to discuss sensitive health concerns. Our focus is on making doctor consultations a natural first step for everyday health concerns.”
