Roche is setting up a new digital technology hub in Hyderabad, its second in India, to drive data-led and AI-enabled healthcare solutions globally.

Swiss healthcare major Roche is setting up a new digital technology hub in Hyderabad, adding a second such centre in India alongside its existing site in Pune. The Hyderabad hub is expected to become operational in the first quarter of 2027 and will play a key role in advancing data-driven and AI-enabled innovations to support patient care worldwide.

The new site will strengthen Roche’s global technology footprint by housing teams that develop and deliver IT services and digital applications across key areas such as biostatistics, ERP systems, medical safety and broader life sciences solutions. Together, the two India hubs in Pune and Hyderabad will focus on building scalable, next-generation digital platforms that help the company orchestrate seamless technology solutions across its operations.

Ramesh Durvasula, Chief Data Officer and Chief AI Officer at Roche, said the Hyderabad hub will be central to creating data-driven innovations that can advance patient care and outcomes. Raja Jamalamadaka, Vice-President and Site Head for Roche’s Pune and Hyderabad sites, noted that expanding the company’s footprint in India will enhance its capability to deliver integrated digital and technology solutions at scale.

The decision to house the new digital technology hub in Hyderabad is also seen as an endorsement of Telangana’s growing position as a technology and innovation hub, with strong talent pools in data, digital and life sciences. Roche plans to scale up the new facility over the next few years, aligning hiring and investments with the hub’s phased rollout ahead of its go-live in early 2027.
