Rodic Consultants bags FICCI’s Smart Urban Innovation Award for Bihar health project
An integrated HIMS solution was incorporated across 13,000 state government-operated health facilities in Bihar, spanning from district hospitals to health sub-centres across 38 districts
Rodic Consultants, a leading engineering and digital infrastructure consulting company, has been awarded the prestigious FICCI’s Smart Urban Innovation Award for its Smart Healthcare project in Bihar. The award was presented by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) at a formal event at the Federation House, FICCI, New Delhi. The recognition highlights Rodic’s unwavering commitment to excellence and professionalism in providing viable infrastructure solutions.
As a Manager Service Provider (MSP) for the Bihar Healthcare Project (BHAVYA), Rodic Consultants, along with its technology associate, developed, designed, and implemented an integrated hospital information management system (HIMS) solution across 13,000 state government-operated health facilities in Bihar, spanning from district hospitals to health sub-centres across 38 districts. So far, the company has completed HIMS implementation across 38 districts, with all districts integrated in May 2024 through the state-of-the-art HIMS platform. The implemented HIMS platform includes more than 20 different modules such as patient registration, OPD & IPD management, doctor’s scheduling, pharmacy, radiology, and lab information modules, all operational across the state.
The HIMS platform is also integrated with all legacy or existing standalone applications used by the state government, creating a unified HIMS platform named 'BHAVYA,' currently used across Bihar to address the digital needs of the health sector. Additionally, a state-of-the-art integrated control and command centre at a central location monitors health indicators and the functioning of health facilities, ensuring a shift from a government/system-centric view to a citizen/beneficiary-centric approach. This helps the authority transition from reactive to proactive decision-making in managing the growing health demands.
Raj Kumar, CMD, Rodic Consultants, said, "We are proud to be recognised as a managed service provider towards the public healthcare digitalisation project under one state-ones system scheme. This award reflects our commitment to leveraging technology for the betterment of healthcare services and underscores our dedication to driving impactful change in the nation's healthcare sector."
