The collaboration aims to roll out Pheezee assessments across Medplus diagnostic centres, enhancing physiotherapy outcomes with smart, tech-enabled diagnostics

Startoon Labs, a homegrown medical device R&D and manufacturing company focussed on joint and muscle health, has entered into a strategic partnership with Medplus through a signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The collaboration aims to roll out Pheezee assessments across Medplus diagnostic centres, enhancing physiotherapy outcomes with smart, tech-enabled diagnostics.

Pheezee is a non-invasive, wearable prognostic device that monitors and tracks the functional recovery of patients undergoing physiotherapy. It is US FDA-listed and integrates AI and advanced biosignal processing to deliver real-time insights. The device uses Electromyography (EMG) and Range of Motion (ROM) analysis to evaluate muscle function and nerve communication, offering precise diagnostic data for conditions such as joint pain, muscle disorders, arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, muscular dystrophy, and other musculoskeletal and neurological conditions.

According to a press statement by Startoon Labs, “With Pheezee, our goal is to bring precision to physiotherapy. The AI-enabled reports not only track muscle recovery but also offer personalised insights and recommendations that allow therapists to target treatment with greater accuracy. Through this partnership with Medplus, we aim to make functional recovery tracking more accessible and integrated within mainstream diagnostic infrastructure.”

One of Pheezee’s standout capabilities is its ability to identify the root cause of pain, especially age-related or posture-induced, by pinpointing the specific affected muscle. This allows for focused treatment instead of broad joint-based interventions, potentially leading to faster and more effective rehabilitation.

The Pheezee test is particularly beneficial for individuals with musculoskeletal pain or neurological impairments. It can be used for pain diagnostics, mapping muscle stress and monitoring progress throughout the therapy journey — ensuring transparency and measurable recovery outcomes.

As physiotherapy becomes an integral part of modern rehabilitation, innovations like Pheezee are set to transform how recovery is tracked and optimized. This Medplus-Startoon Labs partnership may very well be a step toward democratising access to smarter, more effective physio-diagnostics across India.
