Surface Guided Radiation Therapy with Vision RT now in India

Vision RT Invests for Indian Radiotherapy Patients

Vision RT, the world-leading developer of Surface Guided Radiation Therapy (SGRT) solutions, recently announced that it has hired Debabrata Bhowmick as Country Manager, and has completed a series of educational events on SGRT which benefited 450 participants (Radio-oncologists) throughout India.

Debabrata joins Vision RT after 25 years in sales and marketing for Fortune 500 companies (Medtronic, Covidien and Johnson & Johnson) in the Indian subcontinent. He brings considerable expertise and experience to Vision RT as the company continues to expand in India.

In May 2018, Vision RT supported multiple educational events of the SGRT Community in India, together with Apollo Proton Cancer Centre, Chennai, Bangalore Baptist Hospital and Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital Mumbai. Sir HN Reliance Hospital is already a user of Vision RT’s technology and organised a full day workshop on SGRT, with around 150 participants from all over India.
“Vision RT can deliver increased accuracy, and patient throughput, which are two critical needs for Indian radiation therapy” said Debabrata. “In addition, the company’s strong focus on patient outcomes and education are the reasons why I am so pleased to be part of Vision RT’s global team.”

“We believe having a direct presence in a country is a strong way to ensure the high standards of customer delight for which we are known,” commented Norman Smith, CEO of Vision RT. “We have begun the process of bringing SGRT to India strongly, with the help of our partner hospitals, and we will continue to invest to make SGRT the standard of care for all Indian radiotherapy patients.”

Vision RT was founded in 2001 with a mission to develop pioneering technology for surface guided radiation therapy, with the goal of enabling patient comfort and enhancing treatment efficiency.

Fifteen years later, the company’s video based tracking technology is quickly becoming established as standard of care in surface guided radiotherapy. With a non-invasive, non-ionizing approach, there are now over 750 installations around the world.

Headquartered in London, UK, with an office in Columbia (MD) in the USA, Vision RT has a staff of over 160 individuals based around the world. As medical techniques become increasingly complex, the company is constantly developing its product range to help streamline the delivery of radiation therapy, with accuracy and patient comfort at the heart of its progression.
