North-East India-based GNRC has appointed Dr Vinoth Kumar as Group Chief Supply Chain Officer. Dr Vinoth is a seasoned healthcare supply chain management professional, an innovator, author, researcher, medico-legal expert, disaster management specialist and a sustainability advocate. He holds a doctorate and a postgraduate degree in Hospital Management from Apollo Hospitals, Chennai. He also possesses a postgraduate degree in Business Management from the Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Ghaziabad.
Dr Vinoth's academic pursuits include post-graduate qualifications in Medical Law & Ethics (NLSIU), Materials Management and Labor Laws with Administrative Laws. He has received specialised training in Health Technology Assessment (AIIMS) and Lean and Six Sigma in Healthcare (IIHMR University), successfully implementing numerous projects. Additionally, he is trained in Comprehensive Disaster Management (NIDM), New Delhi.
His career is marked by a unique blend of academic, research, and industry experience, spanning more than two decades. He has held various leadership roles in internationally renowned healthcare institutions, including Apollo Hospitals Group, Global Health City, and KIMS Health.
Dr Vinoth is a recipient of many awards and accolades from organisations both within the country and abroad. A remarkable achievement is his recognition in the India Book of Records (IBR), Asia Book of Records (ABR), World Book of Records (UK) and Guinness World Records. Notably, he is the first healthcare supply chain management professional in India to achieve this feat. He is also the inaugural healthcare management professional in India to be awarded with World Book of Records (UK) and the prestigious Guinness World Records. Furthermore, he holds the distinction of being the first healthcare supply chain management professional in India to be awarded the Level 3 (Highest) Badge, 'Qimpro Certified Qualitist,' by the Qimpro Foundation. He has pioneered the innovative concept of 4D MUSIC Model for achieving healthcare sustainability, earning him the “Best Innovator Award” and “Sustainability Champion Award” in healthcare.
Dr Vinoth’s contributions extend beyond his professional achievements. He has organised numerous seminars, workshops, public awareness campaigns, and conferences. His passion for writing is evident through several research publications and articles in national and international magazines and journals. He has been a sought-after speaker at national and international business forums and serves as a visiting faculty in leading Business Schools. Dr Vinoth has taken proactive initiatives in reducing waste, conserving resources and promoting circular economy and sustainability practices.
He is highly recognised for his expertise in sustainable patient-centric supply chains adopting CQO approaches, health technology assessments and Lean Six Sigma concepts.
