Over 100 ophthalmologists and optometrists across Tamil Nadu participated in this networking session Maxivision Super Speciality Eye Hospital recently organised continuing medical education (CME) in collaboration with the Madurai Ophthalmologist Association on 'Multifocal IOL technology in cataract surgery and its benefits.' Over 100 ophthalmologists and optometrists across Tamil Nadu participated in this networking session. The CME was spearheaded by Dr Kasu Prasad Reddy, founder of Maxivision Eye Hospitals and Dr Shibu Varkey, Medical Director of Maxivision Eye Hospitals Tamil Nadu. In the present scenario, Dr Shibu Varkey delivered a presentation on Multifocal IOL technology implantation taking precedence over routine mono-focal cataract surgery. Dr Kasu Prasad Reddy who is a renowned ophthalmologist who has an experience of over 4 decades shared his life experience from England to Madurai the journey of his life. In his speech, Dr Reddy highlighted to the young ophthalmologist in the meeting “treat every patient as god" and said “Love your equipment” because future ophthalmology is going to be technology-driven also he expressed that no one is competing with you other than yourself. Dr Varkey said, “As cataracts remain one of the leading causes of vision impairment worldwide, medical professionals must stay informed about the cutting-edge treatments that can significantly improve patient outcomes.”
