National Health Conclave stresses for policy reforms

A white paper will be submitted to the government and other stakeholders, outlining policy recommendations for reforms in the field of healthy ageing The National Health Conclave (NHC) on Healthy Ageing was recently organised by Vayah Vikas and AHPI, where over 120 experts from across the country participated in the event. The conclave focussed on key issues relating to healthy ageing, including mental health, social engagement, health insurance, technology, and research relevant to older adults.  After the conclave, a white paper will be submitted to the government and other stakeholders, outlining policy recommendations for reforms in the field of healthy ageing.  The conclave was inaugurated by Shibulal, Co-founder, Infosys and featured the keynote addresses by Dr Devi Shetty, Kris Gopalakrishnan and Dr Alexander Thomas, organising Chairs of NHC 2023 among others addressed the audience.   The sessions were chaired by leading experts in the field, including Dr K Srinath Reddy, Former President, PHFI, Prof S Raghunath, Professor of Strategy, IIM Bangalore, Prof OV Nandimath, Prof. of Law, NLSIU and Rajit Mehta, MD & CEO, Antara Senior Living.  The conclave also featured the release of the book Embracing the Golden Years, a comprehensive guide to healthy ageing, edited by Dr Thomas, Gopalakrishnan, Divya Alexander and Sugandhi Baliga.  "The success of the NHC on Healthy Ageing and the positive outcomes it has generated has enthused us and through our white paper, we hope to bring about meaningful policy reforms that will benefit older adults across the country," said Dr Thomas.
