Health tech start up MedPay joins ONDC network
As Medpay joins ONDC, the catalogue of pharmacies on Medpay’s network can be seen on all apps that a consumer is shopping from across the Open Network
MedPay, a leading health-tech startup, has on-boarded the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), an initiative of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. This integration will enable seamless access to the extensive local network of MedPay pharmacies via the Open Network.
As Medpay joins ONDC, the catalogue of pharmacies on Medpay’s network can be seen on all apps that a consumer is shopping from across the Open Network that is rapidly developing, while seamlessly facilitating transactions. This will enable Medpay to expand its customer base by making its network of pharmacies available to buyers on buyer apps like Pincode, Paytm, etc. MedPay going live on the ONDC Network will help the Bengaluru-based brand grow its presence across the country and achieve its mission of building India’s largest Connected Care Network, connecting pharmacies directly with customers.
As an early adopter of ONDC Network in the healthcare and wellness domain, Medpay aims to disrupt the pharmacy purchase experience by creating opportunities for wider reach surpassing geographical barriers. Local pharmacies or small chemists now have access to a larger customer base. By further joining ONDC Network, it will potentially lead to more increase in sales and customer retention for stand-alone pharmacies.
"As we welcome new participants into the ONDC ecosystem, our vision extends beyond revolutionising digital commerce and trade to fostering a dynamic and sustainable global marketplace, driven by principles of inclusion and shared prosperity," said T Koshy, MD and CEO, ONDC.
Ravi Chandra, Co-Founder and CEO, MedPay, said, “We are excited to be a part of ONDC. As a pharmacy aggregator, we are aligned with ONDC on our mission to create equal opportunities for all. Joining ONDC will boost the local pharmacy network with discovery and e-commerce. This gives equal and fair opportunity to every standalone pharmacy to compete with existing inventory-based online medicine platforms.”
