This insurance bridges the gap by combining cancer protection with regular income support.

A cancer diagnosis affects more than a person’s health. It interrupts work, reduces household income and places additional financial pressure on families. Traditional health insurance covers hospital bills, but many families face ongoing expenses such as home loan instalments, rent, school fees and utilities during treatment. Conventional cancer insurance, typically a one-time lump-sum payout, does not fully address this gap. Tata AIA Life Insurance’s newly launched Sampoorna Care – Cancer bridges this gap by combining cancer protection with regular income support.

Why income protection matters

Cancer treatment is not always a one-time event. It involves prolonged medication, repeated hospital visits and extended periods away from work. Research shows cancer-affected households spend significantly more on inpatient care and often borrow money or sell assets to manage costs. Caregivers frequently reduce or stop working to support patients. Families thus face two simultaneous challenges: rising medical expenses and falling income. While a one-time payout can help with immediate treatment costs, recovery requires steady financial support over months or years.

What Tata AIA Sampoorna Care – Cancer offers

Sampoorna Care – Cancer offers flexibility to receive claim benefits as regular income over one to five years. Policyholders can choose to receive the benefit as:

• A lump-sum payout

 • Regular income

 • A combination of both

This flexibility allows families to align payouts with actual financial needs, using lump sums for treatment costs and income support for household commitments during recovery.

Protection across different cancer stages

The plan provides benefits for both minor-stage and major-stage diagnoses. For minor-stage cancer, including early-stage and carcinoma in situ, policyholders can receive up to 25% of sum assured or ₹10 lakh. Importantly, a minor-stage claim does not reduce the benefit available for a future major-stage claim, helping preserve larger protection if disease progresses. For majorstage diagnosis, policyholders receive up to 100% of sum assured.

Long-term premium certainty

Sampoorna Care – Cancer offers a premium guarantee for 30 years, keeping premiums fixed and helping customers plan protection costs. The product includes a waiver-of-premium benefit following a minor-stage diagnosis. Once triggered, future premiums may be waived while coverage continues, which is particularly useful when policyholders face reduced income and higher medical expenses.

Family and preventive-care features

The plan allows spouses to be covered under joint policy, providing cancer protection to both partners through a single solution. Customers can access discounted cancer screening through Tata AIA Health Buddy, supporting earlier detection and timely intervention.

How the product stands out

Sampoorna Care – Cancer’s strength lies in its focus on financial continuity. While many cancer plans primarily address treatment costs, this product recognizes families also need support replacing lost income and maintaining financial commitments. Its combination of stage-based benefits, income flexibility, premium certainty, premium waiver and screening support makes it comprehensive cancer protection. The product is especially relevant for salaried individuals, self-employed professionals, singleincome families and households with significant monthly commitments.
