Terumo India unveils advanced simulation-based training

IMT News Desk

The new training room at TISL, which can accommodate up to 32 people, is equipped with audio and video conferencing capabilities to facilitate remote learning and collaboration

Terumo India has taken a significant step forward in its group mission of ‘contributing to society through healthcare’ with the advancement of its Terumo India Skill Lab (TISL). The state-of-the-art facility, designed to enhance the clinical skills of healthcare professionals (HCPs), has been upgraded recently to offer specialised simulation-based training.

The advanced TISL includes cutting-edge equipment to enhance simulation training for complex cardiovascular and interventional procedures. Among the new additions are the Mentice computer-based simulator and physical training models, designed to simulate various interventional procedures. These tools enable healthcare professionals to better prepare for real-world scenarios and achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Notably, a Beating Heart Model has been introduced to simulate the movement of the heart as it beats. At the same time, a Liver Flow Model and Iliac Model have been added to train interventional radiologists for minimally invasive procedures.

Dr Anudeep Sandhu, Director of Medical Affairs and Clinical Affairs, said, “By advancing Terumo India Skill Lab, we are directly addressing the critical need for enhanced HCP training in India, where complex procedures like percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) are becoming increasingly vital. Our state-of-the-art facility equips healthcare professionals with the advanced skills needed to manage complications effectively. Our commitment to clinical excellence and pioneering academic initiatives through TISL will not only elevate healthcare practices but also contribute to improving patient outcomes across the country.”

The new training room at TISL, which can accommodate up to 32 people, is equipped with audio and video conferencing capabilities to facilitate remote learning and collaboration. By partnering with academic institutes, teaching hospitals, and scientific societies, Terumo India is enhancing physician training, minimising errors, and improving patient outcomes.
