The Hartford opens technology center in Hyderabad to accelerate AI innovation

The Hartford, a leading U.S.-based insurance company, announces the grand opening of its new India Technology Center today in Hyderabad’s Financial District. This strategic expansion reinforces the company’s commitment to advancing artificial intelligence and digital innovation.

Located on the top two floors of Kalyani Trident, the state-of-the-art facility is designed to foster innovation and collaboration. It features dynamic workspaces, advanced workstations, and training facilities to support professional growth.

“The true strength of The Hartford has always been its people,” said The Hartford’s Chief Information Officer, Shekar Pannala. “By building on our world-class workforce with this technology center in Hyderabad, we are not only creating new digital and AI capabilities but also shaping the future of insurance technology. This center will be a magnet for talent in India – a place where engineering excellence and unified purpose drive innovation at scale.”

Shekar Pannala, Chief Information Officer at The Hartford, emphasized the importance of people in driving innovation, stating, “By building on our world-class workforce with this technology center in Hyderabad, we are not only creating new digital and AI capabilities but also shaping the future of insurance technology.”

Hyderabad was chosen due to its thriving ecosystem, skilled workforce, and reputation as a global innovation hub. The new center complements The Hartford’s existing U.S. technology hubs in Hartford, Connecticut; Chicago, Illinois; and Charlotte, North Carolina, as part of the company’s global strategy to expand engineering capabilities and accelerate development.

Jeff Hawkins, Chief Data, AI and Operations Officer, noted that the Hyderabad team would apply leading advancements in data, AI, and emerging technologies to elevate and expand The Hartford’s capabilities while maintaining high ethical standards. “We are eager for the Hyderabad workforce to share in our bold, imaginative work,” he said.
