Wockhardt Hospital, Mira Road unveils epilepsy and Parkinson’s Disease clinic

A multi-disciplinary team of experts at the clinics will address the complex clinical requirements of people with Epilepsy and Parkinson’s disease

On the occasion of World Brain Day, Wockhardt Hospitals, Mira Road, launched a specialised epilepsy clinic and Parkinson’s Disease clinic to cater to various needs of the patients including patient education, awareness, and advocacy. The clinic has trained experts to manage epilepsy and Parkinson’s Disease with the support of a multi-disciplinary team that will help with pre-and post-treatment care. 

Present on the occasion were Dr Pavan Pai Consultant Neurologist, Dr Ashwin Borkar Consultant Neuro Surgeon, Dr Dipesh Pimpale Consultant Neurologist, Dr Vinod Rambal Consultant Neuro Surgeon, Dr Siddharth Warrier Consultant Neurologist, Dr Rahil Ansari Consultant Neurologist, Dr Imraan Khan Consultant Neuro Rehabilitation, Dr Bipin Jibhkate Consultant Neuro Intensive Care, Dr Pankaj Dhamija Center Head Wockhardt Hospitals, Mira Road.

Dr Pai said, “Parkinson’s Disease is a neurodegenerative condition due to which there is a lack of dopamine in brain cells. There is a growing prevalence of Parkinson’s disease in the country. Just like epilepsy patients, even those with Parkinson’s disease need enough care and attention. In the beginning, Parkinson’s patients feel better with the help of medication. This clinic will also incorporate BOTOX therapy for other movement disorders.
